THE WATERFALL. Stained pigment on linen. The creative process began initially, by submerging a piece of linen into the slowly flowing creek at my country studio in Lemon Tree, a place that holds special meaning for me. The purest mountain water, enriched with natural ochres and minerals, seeped into the fabric, imparting unique, organic patterns. Next staining begins with a vision in mind, this piece began whilst dreaming of a tall waterfall. Which waterfall? This waterfall is an imagined summary of all of the waterfalls I have spent time with. From Japan to Cape York who knows, to me the waterfall is international, mysterious and powerful. #internationalwomensday
